Laughter

"He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting."  Job 8:21

I made this pastel of Boo four years ago and it remains one of my favorites.  The last couple of days, Boo has really laughed and enjoyed himself.  He seems to be on the mend.  Thank goodness!  Of course, he's not back to normal yet and is still sleeping a lot.

Laughter is truly one of God's healing gifts.  As soon as Boo is able to laugh, to see the humor in every day things, his blood pressure is easier to control and he relaxes.  Then, the healing can really begin.  Isn't that true for all of us?  When we laugh and relax, God can more easily show us what He wants us to see.  He is more able to heal us physically and emotionally.

    1. Sometimes I think it's easier to follow more closely to God during the rough times. Guess I should be grateful for the tough times!

    2. In our weakness, He is made strong. We spent several years in close contact with several of the persecuted Chinese Christians that escaped to the U.S. They told us that those being persecuted there don't pray for the end of the persecution, they pray for strength because they see how much He is accomplishing through such difficult times. It was quite humbling to hear their stories.

  2. True. Laughter does send sorrow and depression and heaviness out of our body. It is a good thing to count on. And I hope blessings are poured forth over and over again to your dear one, and to you who is part of that stressful situation. You both need to laugh... and our Lord is kind enough to make it happen happily.

  3. Laughter is so healing. My hubby makes me laugh all the time. When he was sick, he didn't have the energy to "be funny." Boy, did I miss that. I know he is healing because he is making me laugh again.
Love the picture. Makes me smile. God bless you both.
